WGA Awards Love The Simpsons
The Writers Guild of America, West (WGAW) and the Writers Guild of America, East (WGAE) have announced nominations for outstanding achievement in television and radio writing during the 2006 season.
In the Animation category, THE SIMPSONS racked up four of the six nominations, including John Frink for "The Italian Bob," Dan Castellaneta and Deb Lacusta for "Kiss Kiss Bang Bangalore," Don Payne for "Simpsons Christmas Stories" and Matt Selman for "Girls Just Want To Have Sums." The other two nominees included "Who's Your Daddy? " form The LIFE AND TIMES OF JUNIPER LEE, written by Marsha Griffin, and "Church Hopping" from KING OF THE HILL, written by Jim Dauterive.
Other animation related nominations were also wins, for the following categories only had one nomination each -- Television Graphic Art for COURTROOM SKETCHING, William J. Hennessy Jr. (ABC) and Television Graphic Animation for SATURDAY EARLY SHOW, Monica DiNatale Eureyecko (CBS).
The 2007 Writers Guild Awards will take place Sunday, Feb. 11, 2007, in Los Angeles at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel and simultaneously in New York at the Hudson Theater at the Millennium Broadway Hotel.
