On Sept. 14, 2006, in Vancouver, B.C., the Canadian Awards for the Electronic and Animated Arts (CAEAA) winners were announced.

The theater was packed with videogame and animation luminaries as well as new media art schools' top talents who were wined, dined and entertained by William Shatner and a host of industry celebrities.

"The evening was a huge success," said Yannis Mallat, ceo of Ubisoft's Montreal studio. "The first edition of the Canadian Awards for the Electronic and Animated Arts is a step forward for the entire Canadian video game industry."

Winner for best animated short Jeff Chiba Stearns said, “I am extremely honored and excited to receive an Elan for Best Animated Short Subject at the 2006 CAEAA Awards. It means a great deal to be recognized by my peers in the Canadian animation industry for the work I am doing in independent classical animation. So many people from around the world respond to how much they relate to my film and in turn share their own stories with me. I can only hope for continued success with all my future projects and that my work will continue to touch the lives of people around the world.”

Studio B Prods. partner, Blair Peters, said, “We’re very excited about winning four ELANS,” said “The evening was a great showcase of the animation and video game industry in Canada. It’s nice to see everyone at Studio B who works so hard day-in and day-out to make our shows a success, get some recognition for their outstanding work.”
