Penguins of Madagascar Wins Daytime Emmy
Nickelodeon’s Penguins of Madagascar was awarded the prize for Outstanding Children’s Animated Comedy, besting PBS’s Curious George and Sid the Science Kid, American Public Television’s Peep & The Big Wide World, and fellow Nickelodeon shows SpongeBob Square Pants and Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness. Elmo puppeteer Kevin Clash was the winner in the Outstanding Performance in a Children’s Series category for his work on Sesame Street.
The Daytime Entertainment Emmy Awards recognize outstanding achievement in all fields of daytime television production and are presented to individuals and programs broadcast from 2:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. during the 2011 calendar year. The 39th Annual Daytime Entertainment Emmy Awards is a presentation of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences in cooperation with the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
