Mr. Hell Sets Fire To Gemini Awards

The 17th Annual Gemini Awards, celebrating excellence in Canadian English-language television, announced their winners over a three-day awards event November 2-4, 2002. In the animation-related categories, AAAGH! IT'S THE MR. HELL SHOW! beat out the stiff competition of ANGELA ANACONDA, ECKHART SERIES III, THE SANTA CLAUS BROTHERS and YVON OF THE YUKON in the Best Animated Program or Series category. Best Pre-School Program or Series winner was Nelvana's MAGGIE AND THE FEROCIOUS BEAST beating fellow animated nominees CAILLOU and WUMPA'S WORLD and the live-action/puppetry series SCOOP AND DOOZIE and THE NOOK COUNTING NETWORK. The Best Visual Effects winner was Lee Wilson, Winston Helgason, Stephen Pepper and Simon van de Lagemaat for episode one of the mini-series VOYAGE OF THE UNICORN.
