VARIETY reports that the European Film Academy and CARTOON, the European Assn. of Animation Film, have added a new animation category to the European Film Awards. The prize will recognize outstanding achievement in European film animation. An expert committee will choose three nominees, which will be voted on by all EFA members. Announcement of the winner will take place at the EFA ceremony, which is being held on Dec. 12 in Bochum, Germany.
