Press Release from Cartoon Network

Cartoon Network and Kids Foot Locker are coming together for the first-ever Cartoon Network Hall of Game Awards to provide one lucky viewer the opportunity to attend the awards show in early 2011.  The promotion kicks off on Dec. 20 and is part of a larger Kids Foot Locker sponsorship around the high-profile televised event.

Throughout the week of Dec. 20, Cartoon Network will encourage viewers to tune in on Dec. 23 from 5-7 pm during the network’s holiday movie marathon.  The network will feature a call-in number during the movie to enter to win a trip for four to the Cartoon Network Hall of Game Awards, sponsored by Kids Foot Locker.

As part of the larger awards show sponsorship, Kids Foot Locker will sponsor a voting category, awarding the athlete with the best sense of style, featured during the awards show and a special Kids Foot Locker micro site at www.HallofGame.com/sneakers. The site will feature the hottest new sneakers currently available at Kids Foot Locker, with the capability to download a Kids Foot Locker coupon, redeemable at Kidsfootlocker.com through March 31, 2011.

“Aligning with Kids Foot Locker to send one lucky viewer to the anticipated awards show is a win for everyone, most importantly our viewers,” said John O’Hara, executive vice president and general sales manager, Cartoon Network and Adult Swim Ad Sales and Marketing.  “This fully integrated sponsorship is the type of strategic promotion we strive to develop alongside our sponsoring partners.”

“Through our partnership with Cartoon Network, we are engaging our customers further with a unique program that resonates with both parents and their children,” said Jeanine Zocks, vice president of marketing for Kids Foot Locker.  “We are always looking for new ways to elevate our customers’ experiences with us.  The opportunity to win a trip to the inaugural ‘Hall of Game,’ generates that excitement.”

Premiering in early 2011, Cartoon Network Hall of Game Awards will give kids the chance to vote for their favorites in select categories at www.HallofGame.com. From the red carpet, to the never-before-seen stunts and surprises on stage, this unconventional celebration will be led by a celebrity host and feature icons from television, film, music and sports, as kids experience an evening of humor and fun at the most raucous and biggest sports awards show ever presented on television.  Additional Cartoon Network Hall of Game Awards sponsors previously announced include Pepperidge Farm Goldfish Crackers.

Cartoon Network previously announced that veteran, award-winning television and special event executive producers Michael Dempsey and Steve Mayer will lead production of its first-ever broadcast awards event, Cartoon Network Hall of Game Awards.  This first-of-its-kind, sports award event for kids, is created and produced in association with IMG Media, the production arm of global sports, entertainment and media company, IMG.  The Sports Illustrated Group’s SI KIDS franchise will be serving as the official media partner.
