Berlin Short Film Festival Winners

The 17th Berlin International Short Film Festival took place November 6-11, 2001 and featured 70 screenings including six competitions and twenty special programs. HASTA LOS HUESOS by René Castillo took the prize for best animation, and Gabriele Pennacchioli's THE SHARK AND THE PIANO won first prize in the Children's Short Film Competition. All of the animated winners are listed below:

Children's Short Film Competition

1st Prize: THE SHARK AND THE PIANO by Gabriele Pennacchioli,

2nd Prize : L'ENFANT ET LA HAUTE MER by Laetitia Gabrielli, Pierre Marteel, Mathieu Renoux and Max Tourret.

3rd Prize: INSULAIRES by Elie Klimis.

Local Heroes (Berlin Brandenburg Regional Competition)

2nd Prize: RHAPSZODIA IN FISH MINOR by Markus Bauer and Matthias Hoene.

Ultra Shorts (Internet Competition)

MEIN WILLE GESCHEHE by Jochen Bomm, Andreas Hiller, Phillip Orgassa and Sebastian Witt.
