Avatar, Foster’s & Peppa Win at Cartoons on the Bay

Cartoons on the Bay handed out its Pulcinella Awards on April 30, 2005, with AVATAR THE LAST AIRBENDER, FOSTERS HOME FOR IMAGINARY FRIENDS and PEPPA PIG all taking home two awards each. The event wrapped on Sunday with the awards shows having to turn away people because it was over capacity.

Nicks AVATAR won the top Pulcinella for Best TV series as well as Best TV series of action and adventure. Cartoon Networks FOSTERS took the prizes for Best TV series for all audiences and star Bloo won Best Character of the Year. Astley Baker Davies PEPPA was awarded Best TV series for Pre-school: and Best European Program.

The International Jury of the 9th Pulcinella Awards International TV Cartoons Competition was composed of Raoul Servais (director, Belgium) as president of the jury, Meredith Metz (svp, creative affairs, Walt Disney Television Animation, U.S.), Irene Wellershoff (head of childrens and youth fiction, ZDF, Germany), Heather Kenyon (senior director of development original animation, Cartoon Network, U.S.), Maria Mussi Bollini (childrens programs, Rai Tre, Italy).
