On Sept. 21st at Cartoon Forum in the Catalan city of Girona, Aardman Animations' THE PEARCE SISTERS, directed by Luis Cook, was awarded the Cartoon d'Or, the only pan-European prize specifically for animated films. The four other finalists were: LIFE LINE by Tomek Ducki, PETER AND THE WOLF by Suzie Templeton, THE IRRESISTIBLE SMILE by Ami Lindhom and T.O.M. by Daniel Grey and Tom Brown.

The Cartoon d'Or jury was comprised of Hungarian director of THE DISTRICT! A'ron Gauder, Estonian director of LOTTE FROM GADGETVILLE Janno Poldma, and Head of Youth and Children's Progams for Televisio de Catalunya Xavier Romero.
