2008 Leo Awards Honor Animated Jibber Jabber

The new CG animated TV series, JIBBER JABBER, which will air this September on YTV, walked away with four out of five possible wins in the animation category at the prestigious Leo Awards this past weekend.

The series, currently airing on Canal J in France has already won international acclaim as one of their top animated series.

The STORM HAWKS episode "Calling All Domos" won for Best Direction/Storyboarding (Rav Grewal, Jean Lacombe, Steve Ball, Colin Lorimer).

JIBBER JABBER won in all animation categories nominated; Best Animation Program or Series -- Producers David Bowes, Jim Corbett; Best Overall Sound -- Chris McIntosh, Alex Hall; Best Musical Score -- Michael Richard Plowman; Best Screenwriting -- Victor Nicolle.

"What is truly amazing about this show is the smooth transition we have been able to achieve going back and forth between the imaginative and reality worlds, as well as the level of quality accomplished from the storytelling, production design, animation, soundtrack, and all points in between. It really is a testament to the tremendous talent, commitment and passion of all the people who contributed to the series success," said David Bowes, the lead creator, Director, Producer of the series.

"The producers worked very hard to put every penny on the screen, and this past weekend the dedication, hard work and commitment by the team to produce a first class product was recognized and honored," said Jim Corbett, the series' lead producer.

The Leo Awards celebrate the best in British Columbian film and television production and are a program of the Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Foundation of BC. This is the Leos' 10th year of honoring the achievements of filmmakers in BC.
