Cannes, October 19th, 2009 – This year’s Mip Junior at the Carlton Hotel in Cannes was as busy as ever, attracting more than 600 companies from 59 countries around the world. According to the Hollywood Reporter, TV executives had to sort through over 1000 children’s shows in the screening rooms of the Carlton Hotel. After a long weekend of screenings the top 30 most viewed shows were published by Reed Midem, the organizer of the event. The news was music to the ears of creators Aly Jetha and Shabnam Rezaei. Their show “1001 Nights” which is currently in production at their animation studio Big Bad Boo Studios in Vancouver reached a coveted spot of # 6 on the list. “We could not be happier with these results. It is a testament to the great writing, timing, animation and comedy we are hoping to deliver with this show,” says Aly Jetha.

1001 Nights is a new 2D animated comedy series for the ages of 6-9 exploring the ancient Persian tales as told by Shahrzad. The more famous, known stories include Ali Baba & the 40 Thieves, Aladdin and Sinbad. Big Bad Boo has taken the epic adventures and adapted them for a young, modern audience in a funny, fast-paced show that is 11 minutes in length for each episode. “Mip was such a huge success for us. We have had hundreds of TV stations interested in the show and gotten so many compliments on the design and quality of the production. We are a new company and to be in the top 10 on our first unveiling is just unbelievable.”

Big Bad Boo is scheduled to complete the first 26 episodes in 2010 and slotted for another season shortly thereafter.
