Autodesk Offers 3D Software Public Debuts at GDC

GDC 2007 will be the public debut of some of the newest versions of Autodesk's industry-leading 3D animation, modeling and rendering software, Autodesk Maya 8.5 and Autodesk 3ds Max 9 Extension 1: Productivity Booster. Autodesk Maya 8.5 gives artists enhanced creative control via the new Maya Nucleus unified simulation framework and Python scripting integration, enabling faster completion of complex animation and simulation tasks. Autodesk 3ds Max 9 Extension 1: Productivity Booster helps artists increase efficiency with more than 30 productivity enhancements in the areas of animation and Biped, rendering, UI and usability.

Demonstrations of Autodesk MotionBuilder character animation software will also be held at the Autodesk booth #610. Autodesk Location Services will present an array of tools and resources that allow game developers to create mobile games, which take advantage of the mobile platform's unique Global Positioning System (GPS) capabilities. Throughout the show, game developers will be at the Autodesk booth revealing some of the secrets behind their latest masterpieces. Drop by the Autodesk booth to hear from Harmonix Games, Insomniac Games, Relic Ent., TikGames and Ubisoft.

Autodesk is a proud sponsor of the Microsoft XNA Game Studio Express "Dream-Build-Play" contest, launching at GDC. The "Dream-Build-Play" global contest is open to any user of XNA Game Studio Express. Developers of the top 20 games in 2007 will be eligible to receive licenses of 3ds Max or Maya. XNA Game Studio Express enables independent game developers and hobbyists to create, debug and play the games they create on their Windows PC and with an active subscription to the XNA Creators Club, also on their Xbox 360. Autodesk FBX file exchange format is the only third-party file exchange format supported by XNA Game Studio Express.
