Atomic Betty Finds U.S. Home on The Hub

Skywriter Media and Entertainment Group and The Hub have finalized a licensing agreement for all three seasons of the international kids animation hit, Atomic Betty.

TORONTO (7 September 2010) – Skywriter Media and Entertainment Group and The Hub have finalized a licensing agreement for all three seasons of the international kids animation hit, Atomic Betty. The Hub, a new television network for kids and their families, premieres October 10 (10-10-10) to 60 million U.S. cable televison and satellite households.

Seventy-eight half hour episodes will debut on the U.S. network this fall. The Atomic Betty Christmas Special, as well as interactive and online digital content has also been acquired. The announcement was made today by Kevin Gillis, CEO of Skywriter and Margaret Loesch, President & CEO of The Hub. The Hub is a joint venture between Discovery Communications and Hasbro, Inc.

Atomic Betty follows the adventures of a young girl, whose double life as “Galactic Guardian and Defender of the Cosmos” takes her on a whirlwind journey through space. The life of a Galactic Guardian isn’t easy but Atomic Betty can do it! Try going out on a date while saving the planet with your loud-mouthed alien sidekick, a know-it-all robot and a talking fish. Now that’s a mood killer!

Atomic Betty was created by Atomic Cartoons, and produced by A Betty Productions (BC) Inc., A Betty Productions Inc. and Teleimages Kids. Atomic Betty has been sold to 180 countries worldwide.
