ASIFA-Hollywood is presenting a book signing with Ub Iwerks's granddaughter, Leslie Iwerks. Along with John D. Kenworth, Leslie Iwerks wrote "The Hand Behind the Mouse: An Intimate Biography of Ub Iwerks." The book relates the story of one of the most famous animators of the century - a technical genius, director, photographer, and inventor. From "Mickey Mouse" to "The Multiplane," with over 200 film credits to his name, Ub was a mentor to some of the industry's finest animators, including Friz Freleng and Chuck Jones. His earliest drawings are worth millions of dollars and his artistic and technical creations have touched all corners of the world. The book signing will begin at 7:30 pm.
