The Board of Directors of ASIFA-Hollywood has announced that the ASIFA-Hollywood Animation Archive will be opening to the public on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm beginning Sept. 20, 2005. Thanks to the generosity of animation director John Kricfalusi, the public archive holdings are inaugurated with a collection of animated films, including all 120 black and white Popeye cartoons, along with the best work of cartoon director, Bob Clampett (COAL BLACK, TIN PAN ALLEY CATS, GREAT PIGGY BANK ROBBERY, etc.) These films are available for viewing during office hours. Currently, the public holdings are limited to this collection.

If you would like to volunteer to help the project reach its goals, Tuesdays and Thursdays are the days to stop by and help out.

Currently, ASIFA-Hollywood only has funding in the Archive budget to maintain the Tuesday and Thursday public hours through the end of the year. It hopes with contributions to extend and expand the public availability. Donations can be sent to ASIFA Hollywood Animation Archive, 2114 Burbank Blvd., Burbank, California 91505. Please make the check payable to ASIFA-Hollywood, and write "Animation Archive" on the note line.
