ASIFA-Hollywood will host its 7th Annual Animation Expo on March 3-4, 2000,in Glendale, California. The Expo is a two day animation industry tradeshow focusing on the exhibition of animation related products and servicesand the recruitment of related talent and personnel. Two new pavilions havebeen added to the Expo: Designed for individuals and partners, this spaceis available at greatly reduced rates and offers independent animationcreatives the opportunity to showcase their talents and projects, and reachindustry decision makers. The Freelance Connection is dedicated to digitaland traditional freelance animation artists including animators, designers,storyboard artists and writers. Pitch Place 2000 is designed forprofessionals with projects currently in development. The Expo alsoincludes workshops, demonstrations and panel discussions hosted byanimation professionals from throughout the industry. Confirmed workshopscover topics such as writing for animation, storyboarding and life drawing.Among the panel discussions confirmed to date are: "The Next Wave:Animation on the Internet;" "Television Animation: The Process," moderatedby Brian Miller, Vice President of Production at Nickelodeon AnimationStudios; "Internships: The Industry Gateway;" "Portfolios, Resumes and DemoReels;" and "The Art of Animation."
