Established in 1997, Internav develops highly innovative magnetic tracking devices for medical clientele. Ascension trackers are widely used to capture ultrasonic image planes for making 3D images of organs, to guide instruments to targets within the human body, and to provide viewpoint control in medical training devices. "Our goal is to develop new tracking products that can be used anywhere by anyone at any time," said Ascension president, Ernest Blood. Ascension Technology in Burlington, Vermont develops magnetic, optical and inertial motion-tracking solutions for 3D computer graphics applications in military targeting systems, simulation, virtual reality, biomechanics, animation and medicine.
