Artists Help Japan Auctions Pixar Art

To mark the one-year anniversary of the Japan relief efforts, Artists Help Japan is offering an exciting opportunity to buy rare memorabilia and original artwork from the animation industry's top talent.

One year ago, on March 11, 2011, the world witnessed a devastating disaster when an earthquake and tsunami hit the northeast coast of Japan, killing over 22,000 people and displacing more than 300,000 people from their homes. While Japan received a flood of generous support from all over the world, the recovery effort is far from over.

Using the power of art, Artists Help Japan, a worldwide movement by artist communities, has raised over $200,000 in support of Japan’s ongoing recovery efforts. Founded by Dice Tsutsumi, an art director at Pixar Animation Studios, Artists Help Japan has picked up quite a momentum with over a dozen fundraising events in cities around the world including LA, San Francisco, Toronto, Paris and New York.

To mark the one-year anniversary of the Japan relief efforts, Artists Help Japan is offering an exciting opportunity to buy rare memorabilia and original artwork from the animation industry's top talent such as  Pixar's Ronnie del Carmen, Tia Kratter, and Oscar-nominated Enrico Casarosa. One-hundred percent of the proceeds from the ongoing auctions will benefit MercyCorps' diligent efforts in Japan.

This week’s auction, which includes original artwork from Bill Presing, Sho Murase and Patrick Awa, ends on Thursday. Check it out here, and score some top-tier art for a very good cause.
