Addams Family Online Drawing Contest Announced, Begins September 20th: Celebrates the Anniversary of Westfield’s Most Famous Family

WESTFIELD, N.J. (September 15, 2010) – The Addams Family Anniversary Committee today announced that it will hold an Addams Family online drawing contest beginning this Monday, September 20, 2010, and ending Wednesday, October 20, 2010, to celebrate the anniversary of Westfield’s most famous family, the Addams Family. Winners will be announced on October 27, 2010.  The contest will take place online on TheAlternativePress.com (www.thealternativepress.com), one of New Jersey’s largest all-online newspapers. 

On TheAlternativePress.com, entrants of any age can upload photos of drawings they have created of any Addams Family character or combination of characters.   They can do so by clicking on “Enter the Contest” on the Addams Family Online Drawing Contest block, located on the homepage, town pages, and new Arts & Entertainment section page of TheAlternativePress.com.   

Addams Family characters include Gomez, Morticia, Uncle Festor, Lurch, Grandma, Wednesday and Pugsley.  Prizes provided The Addams Family – A New Musical and worth over $600 will be awarded for first, second and third place, as well as Honorable Mention.  First prize are two complimentary tickets to The Addams Family – A New Musical.

Ron MacCloskey, Chair of the Addams Family Anniversary Committee, said, “We are excited to be partnering with TheAlternativePress.com to celebrate the anniversary of the Addams Family this year.  While the Addams Family is the first family of Westfield, the contest is open to anyone anywhere in the country.
