Toronto, ON --
Arc Productions is producing all of the visual effects for Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn, a live-action digital series based on the best-selling Xbox franchise that brings a brand-new Halo story to life on a scale never before seen in the Halo universe. Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn delivers an exciting story of heroism and sacrifice, taking fans back to the beginning of the human and Covenant war and leading into the events of Halo 4, the biggest entertainment event of 2012.
Released in five weekly segments starting October 5th and leading up to the game’s release November 6th, each episode will appear exclusively on the Machinima Prime YouTube channel and Halo Waypoint
The series will explore the Halo Universe as a live-action, standalone narrative designed to appeal to both hardcore “Halo” fans and those new to the franchise.
“Choosing Arc as our visual effects vendor for Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn was a no-brainer for us. Their technical pipeline, infrastructure and track record of creativity made them the right choice,” said visual effects supervisor, John Sullivan.
“I am thrilled to be working with such a top notch visual effects team, Arc’s work in breathtaking emotive animation and stunning visual effects made them the clear choice for our show which required everything from world building within the Halo universe to combat VFX to heavy creature animation” said director Stewart Hendler.
"Layering in the detail, effects, atmosphere and spectacle that often define the ‘Halo’ universe is one of the biggest challenges in creating the game, and so we wanted to make sure that we worked with a VFX partner who could capture the more spectacular elements of our sci-fi universe and layer them intricately into the human and emotional drama we're trying to create. With Arc, we got just that partner and the results are making each successive viewing more wonderful than the last,” said Frank O’Connor, Franchise Development Director for 343 Industries.
“It is an honor and a privilege to be working on this blockbuster franchise with such a renowned creative team. Working on this project has created an unbelievably high level of energy and buzz at the studio. The exceptional creative storytelling and direction, combined with stunning visuals effects will create an amazing series that will be a major highlight for our company.” said Jeff Young, President & COO, Arc Productions.
