Aqua Teen Soundtrack Offers Tasty Beats

The creative minds at Adult Swim responsible for the wildly successful musical collaborations "Dangerdoom" and "Chrome Children" now bring you the soundtrack for Adult Swim's first-ever theatrical release - AQUA TEEN HUNGER FORCE COLON MOVIE FILM FOR THEATRES. The new release, which will hit stores on April 10, 2007, just prior to the film's theatrical debut on April 13, will feature skits and sound bites from the movie as well as original recordings from some of the best-known names in music.

An eclectic mix of heavy metal, indie rock and hip-hop, the soundtrack features new, original music from Mastodon, Killer Mike and Unearth. The score also includes recordings from old school rap legend Schooly D, who contributed a new version of the "AQUA TEEN HUNGER FORCE Theme" for the film, as well as "The Hold Steady," "Nine Pound Hammer" and others.

The soundtrack will be released under the Williams Street banner, the Atlanta-based studios where Adult Swim programming is created. It will be distributed in the U.S. by ADA (Alternative Distribution Alliance), one of the leading distributors of independent music.

"Adult Swim is the visual equivalent of hip hop and alternative rock music - it's edgy, it's young, it is definitely alternative. So, it makes sense to expand the brand into the music market with this visionary new soundtrack for our first movie," said John Friend, svp of Cartoon Network Enterprises. "We've enjoyed tremendous success with AQUA TEEN HUNGER FORCE both on air and on DVD - and we are excited to bring this franchise to our fans - not only on the big screen - but also on CD."
