Feature film selections have been unveiled for the 2015 edition of the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, which runs this year June 15-20.

This year, the Festival received a record number of submissions: 2,606 films coming from 95 different countries, including 73 features. This added up to over 390 hours of screening time for the Festival’s Artistic Director Marcel Jean and the team from the Films & Programme Planning department before selecting the films presented in and out of competition.

Feature films in competition include three projects from France: Adama directed by Simon Rouby, Avril et le monde truqué (April and the Twisted World) directed by Christian Franck Ekinci, and Mune directed by Alexandre Heboyan and Benoît Philippon, as well as the French-Danish co-production Tout en haut du monde (Long Way North) directed by Rémi Chayé. Other features in competition include Spain’s Pos eso (Possessed) directed by Samuel Orti, Columbia’s Sabogal directed by Juan José Lozano and Sergio Mejía Forero, and two films from Japan: Sarusuberi: Miss Hokusai directed by Keiichi Hara, and The Case of Hana & Alice directed by Shunji Iwai.

Nine animated features will screen out of competition, including Diego Guerra’s Desterrada (Colombia), Soong Yuefeng’s Dragon Nest: Warriors' Dawn (China), Gerhard Treml and Leo Calice’s Eden’s Edge (Australia, U.S.) and Raúl García’s Extraordinary Tales (Belgium, Spain, U.S., Luxembourg).
