Post-production boutique Liquid 9 has completed a complete redesign and upgrade of its studio in conjunction with a restructuring and a new owner: Chris O'Connor.

The upgrade includes additional space, giving the facility 3,000 sq. ft. of new and improved creative quarters with a fresh new look. Renovations included redoing all the video editing, sound design and motion graphics suites, which include Avid Adrenaline HD, Final Cut Pro HD, After Effects, Smoke and Pro Tools HD stations.

With the restructuring of ownership, all Liquid 9 team members now have a financial share in the company; O'Connor is the majority owner.

"Having restructured the company and adding some great new talent to our team, we were inspired to really go to town with the renovation," said O'Connor. "We knocked out walls and pulled all the old wiring, then hired a network architect to design a very efficient and adaptable workflow network that now seamlessly connects all our workstations and gear. Everything is routed through a new state-of-the-art equipment room and is easily interchangeable with user-friendly interfaces. We've added everything from new HD monitors to new terabyte servers and have been able to maintain L9's beautiful and comfortable boutique style and feel."

Recent additions to L9's creative ensemble include Composer and Sound Designer Patrick Meagher and Lead Video Editor Curtis Schmidt. The Kansas City-based company also recently brought aboard Account Executives Dan Barker and Susan Harmon.
