AniMazSpot Announces Fourth Quarter Winners

Adam Floeck and Roque Ballesteros have won the top spots in AniMazSpot’s fourth and final quarter for the 2012 festival season.

Adam Floeck and Roque Ballesteros have won the top spots in AniMazSpot’s fourth and final quarter for the 2012 festival season, joining with earlier quarterly winners; Michaela Copikova, Lissa Pascale, Michael Cawood, Nathan Jones, Michael Huber, and Özgül Gürbüz. These eight quarterly winners now become the nominees for Best of Festival, and will be screened with other Category nominees at AniMazSpot 2012, September 10 through 16, the last evening reserved for awards presentations.  The top Best of Festival winner receives the Bozu Bronze trophy.

Legacy by Adam Floeck

The first nominee from this last quarter is for the thoughtful and beautifully realized Legacy, incredibly Adam Floeck’s first animated film, his undergraduate thesis film at Savannah College of Art and Design.  Adam had earlier attended Syracuse University’s Visual Effects and Animation department to explore his childhood passion for drawing and animation.

Party in the CIA by Roque Ballesteros

As often happens at AniMazSpot, the other nominated short is completely different, Party in the CIA, by Roque Ballesteros, is an irreverent and hilarious political satire. Roque, along with Alan Lau and Brad Rau, are the founders/directors of Ghostbot. They met while studying animation at the Rhode Island School of Design in Film/Animation/Video, and together entered two additional top notch shorts this season.

Congratulations to all Best of Festival nominees.
