Animation Vet Frank Gladstone New Artistic Development VP at IDT Ent.

Animation veteran Frank Gladstone has joined IDT Ent. as vp, artistic development, responsible for all artistic training and recruitment issues as well as community outreach and education and also will have creative input on story development and provide assistance with the acquisition of outside projects.

The 30-year vet was at DreamWorks from 1998-2005. Gladstones credits included THE ROAD TO EL DORADO, SPIRIT: STALLION OF THE CIMARRON, SINBAD and SHARK TALE. Gladstone did recruitment and outreach areas, plus was active in the animation community on behalf of DreamWorks. During his tenure at DreamWorks, he helped to bring independent animated projects, such as MILLENNIUM ACTRESS, GHOST IN THE SHELL II and the upcoming CASSHERN, to DreamWorks for distribution under the studios Go Fish banner.

Prior to DreamWorks, he was a producer at Warner Bros. Feature Animation from 1995-1997, where he was original producer for Warners first fully animated feature QUEST FOR CAMELOT. From 1990-1995, he was managed training for Walt Disney Feature Animation. His credits at Disney included RESCUERS DOWN UNDER, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, ALADDIN, THE LION KING and POCAHONTAS.

He managed his own Emmy award-winning studio, Persistence of Vision Inc., producing commercials and educational films from 1973 to 1989.

Gladstone has lectured on the animation industry at schools and institutions throughout the U.S., Europe, Asia and the Caribbean. He has taught various animation, cinematography and motion picture courses and workshops at, and on behalf of, Stanford University, UCLA, American Film Institute, World Animation Celebration, University of Miami, VIFX, Cinesite, UNICEF, Vancouver Film School, Loyola Marymount University, Nickelodeon, San Jose State and SIGGRAPH. He currently teaches at Pasadenas Art Center College of Design and has designed courses and helped train literally hundreds of people who work in the animation.

Gladstone serves on several school advisory boards, philanthropic and educational organizations, produces public service television commercials and writes for animation and film history publications. He is the past chair of the City of Glendale Arts and Culture Commission, is an active member of the Animation Bank, the international animation resource centers working group, and serves on the executive board of ASIFA-Hollywood.
