Animation Collective Names New COO, Sales Director

Leading children's entertainment producer Animation Collective today announced it has appointed Doug MacLennan COO. Mr. MacLennan previously served as VP of Finance for the company, where he oversaw the budgeting and financing of its co-productions. In his new role, MacLennan will be responsible for leading Animation Collective's corporate strategy and multi-platform initiatives.

MacLennan will report directly to Larry Schwarz, Animation Collective's founder and CEO, and replaces Michael Gold, who left the company to pursue an educational software venture.

MacLennan spent seven years with Merrill Lynch in New York, London and Hong Kong with the firm's Corporate Strategy & Development Group. He transitioned to the entertainment business in 1999, joining the William Morris Agency's trainee program. He later co-produced the TV series INTO CHARACTER for AMC. MacLennan holds an MBA in Entertainment Finance from NYU Stern School of Business and a BA from Amherst College.

Animation Collective also announced the appointment of Olga Marino to the position of International Director of Sales. Marino served as sales executive at Cookie Jar since 2004, where she was responsible for the Latin America and Central and Eastern Europe regions. She closed numerous regional cable, free television and home video sales for Cookie Jar's main titles, including THE DOODLEBOPS and CAILLOU. Marino will take on an expanded role at Animation Collective, where she will be responsible for both coordinating the company's team of third party sales agents, as well as directly selling to broadcasters.
