Animation Block Party Plays This Thursday

On Sept. 15, 2005, Animation Block Party will end the sweltering NYC summer with a festival featuring more than 50 short films in three September screenings at BAM Rose Cinemas in Brooklyn. Animation Block Party received almost 650 submissions over the course of 2005.

Between the Valentines Day event and this Thursdays end of summer festival, ABP will have exhibited international films from the U.K., Canada, Australia, Brazil, Greece, Russia and the Netherlands, as well as many of the top films from the U.S. The genres featured are diverse, ranging from stop-motion to experimental films, personal narrative work, music videos and gross-out humor.

Tickets are now available on the web at www.animationblock.com. It is suggested to purchase tickets in advance as certain shows might sell out. Animation Block Party festival honors will be announced on the ABP website the day after the festival. The winner of the Student Film award will receive a rare opportunity to direct an animation spot for Crumpler Bags.
