MPC LA welcomes Andy Boyd as the new Head of 3D.

MPC LA announced the addition of Andy Boyd as the studio’s new Head of 3D. A respected VFX supervisor in the commercial and film industries, he brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to MPC, as well as a client base built over his 15 years working around the globe.

“The hire of Andy Boyd marks an exciting new chapter in MPC LA’s progression,” notes MPC LA MD Andrew Bell. “He will be spearheading our already talented 3D team as we continue to flex our muscles and expand.”

Boyd’s credentials include the creation of his own 3D fur system, which he used to develop a trio of hilarious Super Bowl ads for Bridgestone and Kia. His commercial reel also includes spots for Xbox 360, Audi and Guinness. His feature film credits include work on Oliver Stone’s W and Spike Jonze’s I’m Here. His vibrant and varied work earned honors from the Primetime Emmys, MTV VMAs, and the Visual Effects Society, as well as a Cannes Lion Grand Prix.

“MPC LA is building something very special here, and I am proud to be a part of it,” states Boyd, who joins from LA’s Method Studios after several years at Framestore and Glassworks in London. “With the vision, talent and willpower at this studio, I see enormous things in their future. Let’s get started.”
