AMC has inked a deal with Fox International Channels to bring its zombie series, THE WALKING DEAD, to places outside the U.S. and Canada, reports VARIETY. Fox will hold worldwide TV and home video rights and rep the series in locales it does not have networks.
WALKING DEAD is the first internally produced project for AMC, which doesn't have a distribution unit. This is the first such deal for Fox Int'l.
Frank Darabont is writing, directing and exec producing the zombie apocalypse series based on Robert Kirkman's comic. Gale Anne Hurd, David Alpert and Charles "Chic" Eglee are exec producing as well.
