Alliance Atlantis, TV Loonland Aquire Neptuno's Connie The Cow

TV-Loonland AG and AAC KIDS, Canadian media giant Alliance Atlantis kids label, have announced their acquisition of Neptuno Films new animated preschool series, CONNIE THE COW. The three firms will partner to transform the property into a global franchise, complete with TV, home video, DVD, merchandising, publishing and Internet projects. Created and directed by Josep Viciana, this series follows restless and curious Connie who lives on a farm with her nurturing mother, who always has now handy advice, and her father, a very strong yet tranquil bull. Distribution, merchandising and licensing rights will be divided between the three companies, with Alliance Atlantis retaining rights for North/South America, Australia, Africa, Middle East and Asia, and TV Loonland for Eastern Europe, the U.K. and Continental Europe, excluding Spain where Neptuno will be distributing the product. "Josep Viciana and Neptuno Films have created one of the most imaginative and visually stunning worlds I have ever seen in animation," said Ken Faier, VP television distribution AAC KIDS. "CONNIE THE COW has the true potential to be a success on all levels. We look forward to working with Neptuno and TV-Loonland in bringing this to the world and these vibrant images to life." Lisa Hryniewicz, head of distribution TV-Loonland, added, "We are thrilled to have acquired CONNIE THE COW and to be working with Neptuno and AAC KIDS as this captivating production offers a kaleidoscope of colourful images as well as fresh and original characters." Viciana said, "Our goal is to evoke an emotional reaction in every child who watches CONNIE THE COW. With the creation of such unique characters along with vibrant colours and textures, we have created a world that represents everything that is innocent about childhood."
