Allegorithmic Teams with GameTextures.com

50 free high-res, PBR base materials will ship with Substance Designer; a direct link to GameTextures.com will allow for access to hundreds more.

Allegorithmic has announced a partnership with GameTextures.com that will bring high-quality, PBR base materials from the famous video game material library to its Substance texture artists.

Starting this summer, the two companies will provide 50 free PBR-ready materials within Substance Designer and Substance Painter as well as a direct link to GameTextures.com’s robust online library, which includes hundreds of additional materials that can also be purchased.

"Texturing an asset for a true next-gen look requires not only the best tools, but also the best base materials," said Dr Sébastien Deguy, Founder and CEO at Allegorithmic. "By making their library PBR-ready as well as Substance-compliant, the respected team at GameTextures.com has made its leading position as the go-to site for ready-to-use content for next-gen games even stronger. We are very, very excited to start this partnership and provide texture artists with the best texturing pipeline possible."

"Allegorithmic has been a constant innovator in our industry, and their software has been a key component in our pipeline," said Tanner Kalstrom, CEO of GameTextures.com. "With Substance quickly becoming the go-to industry standard for texture artists worldwide, we're thrilled to be their partner."

The materials will be available to Substance users starting with Substance Designer 4.4 and Substance Painter 1.0. There will be no additional costs added to the price of Substance Designer because of this development.
