Conference on information technology set for September

Posted In | Geographic Region: All | Event: SIGGRAPH
What changes can we expect to come about in the relationship between humans and large data repositories? How will intelligent environments influence our access to information? Is there really a clear boundary between the artificial and the real? And finally, how will the latest innovations in Information Technology come together to help us turn information into knowledge that is useful and meaningful?

These questions will be answered by top global scientists and visionaries in technology, design, economics and science. They will present solutions and strategies that will profoundly change our access to and use of knowledge in the future by providing simpler, faster and more effective techniques.

The first annual conference in this series, "Scope1: Information vs. Meaning", will take place September 30-October 1, 1999, at the Hilton Hotel in Vienna, Austria.

To learn more about the conference, press attendees at SIGGRAPH99 have the opportunity to talk to Clark Dodsworth, Co-Chair of the Program Committee who also will coordinate interviews with scope speakers in attendance at SIGGRAPH99.

For individual appointments please contact Clark Dodsworth via phone: 1-415-567-7711
or via e-mail: clark@dodsworth.com

Additionally you can meet Clark Dodsworth after his presentation at the panel "Natural and Invisible Human Interfaces," Wednesday, August 11 at 6:00pm (presentation will be from 4:15pm-6:00pm), or at the Addison-Wesley booth (#2165) on the exhibit hall floor.

Additional information about scope1: information vs. meaning can be picked up at the SIGGRAPH Press Room or visit the scope website at http://www.scope.at.
