After the successful launch of Maya Builder, Maya Complete and Maya Unlimited for Linux in March 2001, Alias|Wavefront has now made Maya 4 for Linux available. Senior Maya product manager Chris Ford said, "Interest in Linux continues to grow, especially among customers with large Maya installations, and this much requested new version comes in response to a huge number of inquiries. We are delighted to be able to make our Linux version of Maya current with Maya on other platforms." Maya for Linux was recently used by London's The Moving Picture Company to create shots for HARRY POTTER AND THE SORCERER'S STONE. Maya 4 for Red Hat Linux 6.2 and 7.1 is available at the same price as Maya 4 for the IRIX, Windows and Macintosh platforms, starting with Maya Builder at US$2995. International pricing will vary. The feature set of the Linux version of Maya is identical to those in Maya for other platforms.
