Summit Ent. has picked up the rights to Daniel H. Wilson's AMP with Alex Proyas set to produce and direct, reports Deadline.com. The story is set in the near future where disabled people are transformed into supermen. Working Title and Paramount were also in the running to buy the rights.

The plan is for Proyas to shoot in Australia on a modest budget. Wilson is writing the book and will team with a screenwriter who will pen the script alongside. This writing processes was the same done for Wilson's ROBOPOCALYPSE, which was adapted by Drew Goddard for Steven Spielberg to direct.
