AKQA Presents Future Lions Global Student Competition

In collaboration with the Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival, AKQA has organized the second annual "Future Lions Competition" for advertising students from around the world. The 2007 winners of the global student competition will be announced Friday, June 22, 2007, at the Debussy Theater.

Titled "Hire them before they steal your job: meet the world's most forward-thinking students," the seminar will be lead by AKQA exec creative directors, James Hilton and Daniel Bonner. The seminar will feature the top five winning entries and give attendees the first crack at a talented crop of ad students.

The goal of the competition is to showcase forward-thinking ideas and concepts created by the next generation of global advertising superstars. The only rule is showing the panel something that could not have been done five years ago. The Future Lions site (www.futurelions.com) includes a creative brief, frequently asked questions, winning tips from AKQA creative directors and an online submission form.

Hilton commented, "We are continuing the Future Lions challenge to ad students around the world after seeing so many brilliant entries from last year. Young creative minds were discovered who approach advertising from a different perspective -- a perspective that is more influenced by the way media is consumed today."

"The competition is an exceptional way for students to attract the attention of the world's most influential agencies," added Ajaz Ahmed, chairman/co-founder. "To win the Future Lions award, you have to forget everything you know about advertising tradition. Ad schools mostly teach students what has gone before. We're looking for what comes next. It's still about ideas."

New this year, winners will receive a Future Lion Cub, a seven-inch tall, limited edition toy designed by AKQA, as recognition for their creative achievement. For more information, go to www.futurelions.com.
