ADV Unveils Nanaka 6/17 & Princess Tutu

ADV Films launched the new DVD series NANAKA 6/17 plus a new installment in the series PRINCESS TUTU on May 23, 2006.

Directed by Hiroaki Sakurai (CROMARTIE HIGH SCHOOL) and jointly produced by GENCO and J.C.Staff (AZUMANGA DAIOH), NANAKA 6/17: THE NOT-SO-MAGICAL MISHAP is a high school comedy with magical charm. Seventeen-year-old Nanaka Kirisato has it all she's beautiful, she's bright, and she's at the top of her class. But somewhere along the way, Nanaka lost touch with her classmates including her best friend Nenji who think she's become an arrogant snob. One day, in the midst of an argument with Nenji, Nanaka falls down a flight of stairs and gets seriously injured. The diagnosis is acute amnesia, and now Nanaka thinks she is six years old and a magical princess.

NANANKA 6/17: THE NOT-SO-MAGICAL MISHAP ($29.98) is a DVD-only release including episodes one through four, presented in both English 5.1 and Japanese 2.0 with English subtitles. Extras include the Magical Domiko music video, plus clean opening animation, clean closing animation and previews of upcoming ADV Films releases.

Directed by Junichi Sato (SAILOR MOON, KALEIDO STAR) and Shougo Koumoto (YOURE UNDER ARREST! SEASON 2) and produced by HAL Film Maker (KALEIDO STAR) and TBS (CHOBITS), PRINCESS TUTU is a classic fairy tale story with a twist of mystery, magic and romance. Darkness hid the pieces of her beloveds shattered heart, and time is running out for Princess Tutu to find them. Her dream of becoming a human girl has come true. However, peril lurks in the unseen shadows. Using the power of an enchanted amulet, she must unravel a dark and twisted mystery to keep her Prince and herself alive.

PRINCESS TUTU: SCHWERT UND FEDER ($29.98) is a DVD-only release including episodes 19 through 22, presented in both English and Japanese with English subtitles. Extras include voice actor commentary with Cynthia Martinez (Pike) and Christine Auten (Uzura/Edel), In the Studio segment with Cynthia Martinez (Pike) and Christine Auten (Uzura/Edel), Mr. Cats Love Lesson, the second of three Princess Tutu specials in which Mr. Cat discusses varied ballet sequences, Etude, a video extra with information on the classical music selections used in the second season, split episode previews for the second season and The Path to Tutu covering the history and development of the Princess Tutu series, plus clean opening animation, clean closing animation, and previews of upcoming ADV Films releases.

Earlier in May, ADV Films also released the third installment of MACROSS, the fifth volume of GODANNAR and volume three of KALEIDO STAR: NEW WINGS.

In MACROSS: DANGEROUS DIVISIONS, a dangerous escape leads to an unpleasant homecoming, as the crew of the Macross find themselves pawns in a much bigger game. Not only are Earths forces badly divided, but now the Zentradi have defied the rules of science to place spies on board the Macross itself. The introduction of a new ace Zentradi pilot is only the newest spark in already explosive mixture, as the fiery relationship between Hikaru and Misa begins to kindle into something else, and Hikarus romance with Minmay hits another snag in the form of a jealous new rival.

MACROSS: DANGEROUS DIVISIONS ($29.98) is a DVD-only release including episodes 12 through 16, presented in both English 5.1 and Japanese 2.0 with English subtitles. Video extras include a commentary track with Mari Iijima (voice of Minmay) and ADR Director Matt Greenfield, a special segment On Stage with Mari Iijima, and liner notes, plus clean opening animation, clean closing animation and previews of upcoming ADV Films releases.

In GODANNAR: INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS, with Goh and Annas own ties on shaky ground, the question of how to juggle the complicated relationships that keep both a marriage and a Dannar team flying become a matter of intense interest.
