Zach Braff is close to signed onto Disney's OZ: THE GREAT AND POWERFUL, reports Deadline.com. He will play the Wizard of Oz's assistant Frank. The cast also includes James Franco (Wizard), Mila Kunis (Theodora), Michelle Williams (Glinda), Rachel Weisz (Evanora) and Joey King (China Girl).

THE WIZARD OF OZ prequel finds a circus wrangler whisked off in a balloon to the Land of Oz where the people believe he is a wizard.

Sam Raimi is helming the WIZARD OF OZ prequel from a script by Mitchell Kapner and David Lindsay-Abaire. Joe Roth, Josh Donen and Grant Curtis are the producers.

Production is set to begin in July.
