Twentieth Century Fox has hired Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, the team behind ZOMBIELAND, to write the screenplay for the X-MEN spinoff DEADPOOL, VARIETY reports.

Ryan Reynolds is also on tap to reprise his role portrayed in X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE. A timetable isn't set on the Marvel property yet, but Reynolds would have a window to work after he wraps shooting GREEN LANTERN this summer. Lauren Shuler Donner is producing.
