Sigourney Weaver is taking on the role of a vampire queen for Amy Heckerling's VAMPS, reports HEAT VISION. Penned by the CLUELESS director, the film follows two NYC party girl vampires, played by Alicia Silverstone and Krysten Ritter, whose immortality is at stake when they find love.

Red Hour, Lucky Monkey Pictures' Lauren Versel and Molly Hassell are producing. GK Films' Parlay Films will rep foreign sales.

Production is set to start in late April.
