THE WARLORDS director Peter Chan Ho-sun is making his first martial arts flick tilted WU XIA, reports VARIETY. The Hong Kong-based filmmaker will produce and fund the production via his We Pictures.

Donnie Yen (IP MAN) will star and choreograph the action sequences. His co-stars include Takeshi Kaneshiro (THE WARLORDS, RED CLIFF) and Tang Wei, who was banned by Chinese officials from making films until now after appearing in Ang Lee's erotic LUST, CAUTION.

The $20 million production includes production designer Yee Chung Man (CURSE OF THE GOLDEN FLOWER), costume designer Dora Ng (BODYGUARDS AND ASSASSINS) and DP Jake Pollock (THE MESSAGE, MONGA).

Filming will start at the end of the month in Southwest China's Yunnan province.
