Mark Wahlberg is in negotiations to star in Seth MacFarlane's directorial debut, TED, reports Variety. The film follows an adult whose childhood wish finally brings his beloved teddy bear to life. McFarlane will provide the voice for the CG teddy bear.

MacFarlane, Alec Sulkin and Wellesley Wild wrote the screenplay. The writers, Scott Stuber and John Jacobs are the producers.

Universal and Media Rights Capital are funding the project.
