Deadline.com reports that Oscar-nominee Hailee Steinfeld (TRUE GRIT) is set to star in SLEEPING BEAUTY. Lindsay Devlin penned the new take on the fairy tale. In the new version, the princess is sent into a dream world by a witch's curse and she must discover how to escape. The project is now being pitched to studios.

Disney already has a SLEEPING BEAUTY film in the works titled MALEFICENT. That film is written by Linda Woolverton and Tim Burton is attached to helm. Angelina Jolie is being rumored as the title character.
