Disney is in discussions with Helena Bonham Carter, Dwight Yoakam and Barry Pepper to board the cast of THE LONE RANGER, reports Heat Vision. Carter would play a madam, Yoakam a gang leader and Pepper a military officer. They would join Armie Hammer, Johnny Depp and Tom Wilkinson.

The story follows nearly dead Texas Ranger who is save by Comanche Tonto, who trains the former lawman to be a masked avenger.

Gore Verbinski (PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN) is directing. Justin Haythe, Ted Elliott and Terry Rossio penned the screenplay. Jerry Bruckheimer is the producer.

Production is set to start in October. The Western adventure will ride into theaters on Dec. 21, 2012.
