Arnold Schwarzenegger has joined a new TERMINATOR project being shopped to the studios, reports Deadline.com. Pacificor now owns the franchise and is hot to exploit it. Robert Cort will be the producer with Justin Lin directing. A screenwriter has not been hired yet. Universal, Sony, Lionsgate and CBS Films are eager to get in a bid.

One of the reasons Pacificor is eager to get started on new TERMINATOR films is because due to copyright law James Cameron regains the rights in 2018. The current rights holder hopes to get two films done before then.
