Sarandon, Broadbent Come to Cloud Atlas
Susan Sarandon and Jim Broadbent are the latest thespians circling The Wachowski siblings and Tom Tykwer's CLOUD ATLAS, reports Variety. Tom Hanks and Halle Berry have already signed on and Ben Whishaw and Hugo Weaving are in talks to join as well.
Based on David Mitchell's novel, the epic tale tells six interconnected stories that take place from the 19th century to a distant post-apocalyptic future. Each actor will play multiple roles in each time period.
The Wachowskis are producing alongside Grant Hill and Stefan Arndt. Philip Lee is the exec producer.
Warner Bros. holds the U.S. rights with Focus International shopping it internationally. A Company will co-fund the film and handle distribution in Russia and Eastern Europe.
