FX has chosen Lucy Punch (BAD TEACHER) as the female lead in its pilot POWERS, based on Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming's graphic novel, reports Deadline.com. The story follows two detectives assigned cases that deal with superpowered people. Punch will play detective Deena Pilgrim.

Charles H. Eglee adapted the teleplay and Michael Dinner will direct. Eglee, Dinner, Bendis and David Engel are the exec producers. Sony Pictures TV and FX Prods. are the studios.

Shooting is set to start in mid-summer.
