Penelope Cruz is in talks to set sail in PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: ON STRANGER TIDES, reports the Heat Vision blog. This would reunite her with her NINE director Rob Marshall. Cruz would play Johnny Depp's love interest, which is as skilled as he is. All that is known about the plot is that it surrounds the Fountain of Youth.

Terry Rossio and Ted Elliot penned the screenplay. Jerry Bruckheimer is again the producer.

Production will begin in Hawai'i in the summer. May 20, 2011 is set for the film's release.
