Bill Nighy (PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: DEAD MAN'S CHEST) is in discussions to join TOTAL RECALL, writes The Hollywood Reporter. Nighy is up for the role of Quatto, the resistance leader. He would join Colin Farrell, Bryan Cranston, Kate Beckinsale, Jessica Biel and Ethan Hawke.

In the new version, Quaid (Farrell) is a factory worker who begins to believe he might be a spy for either Euromerica or New Shanghai after he visits a company that implants false memories in a person's mind. Bryan Cranston will play Euromerica leader Vilos Cohaagen who is planning a secret invasion of New Shanghai. The story is based on Philip K. Dick's WE CAN REMEMBER IT FOR YOU WHOLESALE.

Len Wiseman is the director. Mark Bomback and James Vanderbilt penned the script. Original Film's Neal Moritz and Toby Jaffe are producing.
