Nick Frost (SHAUN OF THE DEAD) is wrapping up talks to join Universal's SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN as a dwarf, reports Variety. His fellow high hoing miners include Ian McShane, Toby Jones, Bob Hoskins, Eddie Marsan, Stephen Graham and Ray Winstone. It was previously announced that Eddie Izzard would be playing one of the dwarves, but he has since left the project.

In the new version of the fairy tale, the huntsman (Chris Hemsworth) leads the princess Snow White (Kristen Stewart) into the forest where he trains her to fight against her wicked stepmother (Charlize Theron).

Rupert Sanders is directing from a script by Evan Daugherty and Evan Spiliotopoulos. Joe Roth and Palak Patel are the producers.

Filming will begin in August with the release date set for June 1, 2012.
