M.C. Gainey, who is best known as Mr. Friendly on LOST, is in talks to join the cast of Quentin Tarantino's DJANGO UNCHAINED, reports Variety.

The film follows freed slave Django (Jamie Foxx) as he trains with a German bounty hunter Dr. King Schultz (Christoph Waltz) in order to save his wife Broomhilda from sadistic plantation owner, Calvin Candie (Leonardo DiCaprio).

Gainey would play plantation overseer Big John Brittle, who rapes Django's wife and brands on R for runaway on Django's cheek.

The cast also includes Samuel L. Jackson, Dennis Christopher, Laura Cayouette and Gerald McRaney. Stacey Sher, Pilar Savone and Reginald Hudlin are the producers alongside exec producers Harvey Weinstein, Michael Shamberg and Jim Skotchdopole.

The Weinstein Company will handle the U.S. release, while Sony Pictures holds the international rights. The film will break into theaters on Dec. 25, 2012.
